Aranyozott kiadói félbőr-kötésben. Dickens hatodik regénye a Martin Chuzzlewit. Dickens a legjobb művének tartotta. A regény közvetlenül az után született, hogy az író életében először, 1842-ben ellátogatott Amerikába, ahol egy esztendőt töltött. A regényben megjelennek amerikai tapasztalatai, amelyek nem túlságosan hízelgőek az ottaniakra, és az amerikai demokráciára nézve. Dickens elborzasztónak találta a rabszolgaság intézményét, civilizálatlannak az átlag amerikai polgárt, olyannak, aki számára fontosabb a szerzés mit a becsület. A Martin Chuzzlewit az önzés és képmutatás regénye, swifti szatíra az emberi természetről Gulliver naív jóindulata nélkül. A kötetet Hablot Knight Browne (Phiz), neves angol grafikus rézmetszetű képei illusztrálják. Szép, bibliofil félbőr-kötésben, márványozott lapszélekkel. Az előzéklapon egy dekoratív ex librisszel. A nemzetközi piac értékes, becses darabja (1200 USD).
