Kiadói illusztrált avantgárd jellegű papírborítóban, amely Lőrincz Gyula munkája. „Szekfű Gyulának mély tisztelettel… - Győry Dezső” dedikált példány! A grafikus a háború előtti éveket Prágában, Pozsonyban és Franciaországban töltötte. Rendkívül aktív résztvevője volt a nemzetközi baloldali politikai és művészeti életnek. 1939-től Budapesten élt, állandó rendőri felügyelet alatt. Később grafikus a Pravda kiadónál.
