Viseltes példányok. „Popper zenekulturális érdemeit röviden úgy foglalhatnók össze, hogy polgárjogot, művészi presztizst szerzett nálunk a celló hangszerének. Amikor zeneakadémiánk fejlődésének első lusztrumaiban volt, okos kultuszfők csodálatos tisztánlátással érezték meg, hogy mi az, ami ilyen fejlődése gyermekéveit élő intézetnek nimbuszt szerez. Első pillanatra tudták, hogy csak európai nevű művészek [Koessler János, Popper Dávid] hírneve és pedagógiai tudása lehet a jövő fejlődés kulcsa.” [Járosy Dezső: Popper Dávid (nekrológ).
