Eredetileg az épület Frivaldszky Imre természettudós számára épült 1845 körül romantikus stílusban Brein Ferenc tervei szerint. 1908-ban gróf Pálffy Anna számára Grioni Antal terve szerint 1908-ban neoreneszánsz stílusban átalakították. Az államosítás után a Svábhegyi Országos Gyermekallergológiai, Pulmonológiai és Fejlődésneurológiai Intézet Béla király úti telepének része volt 1998-ig, azóta kihasználatlanul áll.
