A bird’s-eye, woodcut view of Mirandole and the surrounding fortresses, which appeared in Francios de Belleforest’s work “La cosmographie universelle de tout le monde” (more details about this can be found in lot 105). The representation is surrounded by a richly decorated frame – used only in this edition. In the picture’s foreground are the orders of battle of the besieging armies. With explanatory text in French on the back.
Dimensions: 345 x 440 mm. Fine, clear copy.
