Viennese Empire-style Wine Pitcher
Silver, 1023 g. On embossed base, vase-shape bowl segmented with beadwork and proprietor’s monogram engraved on side. Black-stained arched wood handle ending in punched acanthus leaves. Cast and chased sculptural bouquet of flowers on hinged tilting lid. Lid knob and handle replaced. Marked on base rim, near handle and on neck: Vienna, 1803, Anton Aser, Viennese re-stamp from between 1807-24. Neuwirth: P4 H.: 42.5 cm
