Description: Basilides Mária, Hungarian contralto, one of Hungary’s most eminent concert singers and an enthusiastic supporter of Bartók and Kodály, whose folksong arrangements she recorded (with Bartók at the piano). The second and eighth books of Kodály’s Magyar népzene were dedicated to her.
