Vas István Ungvári Tamásnak szóló dedikációjával.
Radnóti 1940 szeptemberében kezdte meg első munkaszolgálatát. Ekkor jelent meg a Vas Istvánnal közösen fordított Guillaume Apollinaire válogatott versei, amely fordulatnak számított a költő megismerésében. Jelent már meg ezelőtt is Apollinaire-vers magyarul, de ők voltak azok, Radnóti és Vas István, akik felfedezték, sőt feltalálták, hogy hogyan is kell a nagy szürrealistát magyar nyelven megszólaltatni.
