Werner Koch was a German painter and art teacher. He spent his youth in Karlsruhe, where he also received his education at the Landeskunstschule under Karl Hubbuch. During his time as a student, Koch also met his future wife Klara Schindler, the daughter of the painter Theodor Schindler. The couple lived with her parents-in-law from 1945 in the "Schindlerhaus" in Malsch near Karlsruhe, which was built in 1932. In Karlsruhe Koch found a livelihood as a drawing teacher. As a "drawing teacher candidate" he worked in Gernsbach, Baden-Baden and Bretten, among other places. After his return from American captivity in 1945, Koch worked as an art teacher in Bretten and later at the Eichendorff Gymnasium in Ettlingen until his death.
