Bétsben, 1796. ny.n. (8)+33+(2)p.+X folding appx(s). (including 4 maps)
Teleki, an aristocrat from Transylvania, abandoned administrative work due to illness and travelled widely in Hungary. The result is considered the first Hungarian travelogue, a valuable source for cultural, economic, and social history. The copper-engraved maps are by Berken, while the views of Belgrade, Trieste, and Porto Ré were engraved by János Sámuel Czetter.
Signed, dark blue leather with white title on spine. The covers decorated with an incised and painted coastal scene representing the Dalmatian littoral, capturing its Mediterranean atmosphere. In hardpaper case.
