Dedikált: „All’amico Aless. Mihalik con affetto. l’Autore.” Az ajánlás címzettje Mihalik Sándor (1900–1969) művészettörténész, muzeológus. 1926-tól Olaszországban kutatott a római Magyar Történeti Intézet ösztöndíjasaként, 1927-től a sienai Akadémia tagja. A szerző ekkoriban a Római Magyar Intézet igazgatója volt. Kettejük pályája jó példája az 1924-től megélénkülő olasz–magyar kulturális kapcsolatoknak.
