Sárosy (Sárosi) Gyula (1816–1861) Érzelgős lírikusból fejlődött Vörösmarty és Petőfi követőjévé. Pályája az Athenaeumban indult 1838-ban, első művei a szentimentalizmus jegyében született szerelmes dalok, majd a forradalom alatt Petőfi modorában írt lelkesítő verseket. Legismertebb műve a forradalom és a szabadságharc népies verses krónikája, a „Ponyvára került Arany trombita”.
A lapok helyenként enyhén foltosak.
Korabeli félvászon kötés, márványozott metszéssel, aranyozott gerincdíszítéssel.
