A Thököly-életrajzot is író szerzőnek az ősegyház történetét feldolgozó munkáját az előzéklapon található bejegyzés szerint Lévai Bálint későbbi mezőtúri református lelkész 1775-ben Lausanne-ban vette birtokba és egyetemi évei végeztével hozta haza, Magyarországra.
A mű nem első kiadás, 1708-ban is megjelent ugyanitt.
Korabeli, bordázott gerincű, kissé sérült pergamenkötésben, kétszínnyomású, metszettel díszített címlappal.
