A szerző Eötvös József író, politikus édesapja, Eötvös Loránd fizikus nagyapja volt. Névtelenül írt gazdasági tanulmányaiban a reformkori Magyarország államkincstárának bevételi forrásaival, valamint az ország nemzeti vagyonával foglalkozik.
Korabeli, díszes, dúsan aranyozott gerincű sötétzöld félbőr kötésben, szép példány.
