Publishing colligate. The first edition of Pápai Páriz's perhaps most significant work. The author compiled the dictionary by revising and expanding Szenczi Molnár's work, which was already considered outdated. It was published with the support of Ferenc Rákóczi II. In the appendix (Observationes orthographico-grammaticae...), the proofreader of the dictionary, János Csécsi, summarized the spelling rules at the printer's request. Pápai Páriz's dictionary – thanks to Péter Bod's new editions – influenced the development of the literary language even during the Enlightenment.
Worn, contemporary leather. Painted endpapers. Some leaves slightly stained.
