Ganz Beschreibung

He informs the addressee that Dániel Ihász has a swollen arm, so he is writing on his behalf. It turns out that Mednyánszky approached Ihász with a request that the governor send a few lines on the occasion of the unveiling of the memorial to the soldiers in Kápolna. The addressee was the initiator of the erection of the obelisk in memory of the fallen soldiers in Kápolna. Following a nationwide collection and the support of the Eger Honvéd Association, it was inaugurated on December 19, 1869 (the second in the country, preceded only by the monument in Vác). Dunyov states that it would have been better if the addressee had approached Kossuth directly with his request, as he would then certainly have received a positive response. Although couched in very polite terms, it is clear from the text that Kossuth may have been offended, as he ultimately did not write a single line. Dunyov mentions the monument erected in Vác in 1868, to which the governor also sent a donation, and declined Alajos Degré's invitation in a polite letter. He concludes the letter with good wishes, to which Ihász also added two lines of autograph.
